1940’s WEEKEND at Crich Tramway Village, Crich,
Matlock, Derbyshire, DE4 5DP. Experience the real atmosphere
of wartime Britain with air raid warnings, rationing and the
trams at war. Cheer on the Home Guard. Beware of Spivs offering
you black market goods. Watch as the ARP deal with an unexploded
bomb. Military vehicle convoys, soldiers, jitterbug dancing,
wartime songs and lots more too. Reduced entry for visitors

nonstop, high quality music from many top Orchestras and artistes
performing the great hits from the big band, swing and Jive

1940's Weekends A nostalgic look at Britain
during World War II with period vehicles costumes and re-enactments.
The Engine House, Visitor & Education Centre at Highley, will
play host to some additional themed activities ( admission
charge and fares applies. see their web site for details).
Please note:
Come as you are or in the costume of
the period but, with sensitivity for those with difficult
memories, note that Nazi and SS uniforms and portrayals of
Adolf Hitler are NOT permitted. ALL parking is suspended at
Highley station and at The Engine House Visitor Centre throughout
this event.

THE WAR IS COMING to Wolverhampton’s Halfpenny
Green Airport
19th and 20th May 2012
A Fabulous NEW West Midlands venue!
Those spiffing chaps and gals at Northern
Forties are co-ordinating a new 1940s themed event between
the hangars of this former wartime airfield on Saturday 21st
and Sunday 22nd May, 2011.
All re-enactment groups with static displays
and military vehicle owners are invited to join us to make
this a major new attraction in the area. We welcome Allied
and Axis forces (no SS please), period civilians and
Womens Land Army to come along and muck in for the weekend.
Trade stalls also welcome.
Event location:
Wolverhampton Airport Ltd, Bobbington, Stourbridge,
West Midlands DY7 5DY.
Free entry for re-enactors with displays
on in groups with displays/vehicles. MVT members with suitable
vehicles more than welcome.
On the Saturday night, dance the night
away in a WW2 Bellman Hangar to music of the period by the
Ockbrook Big Band .

per head, hopefully including some rations. Space is limited
to a maximum of 320 tickets.
